BERLIN, Germany (AP) — Austria scored two late goals to beat Poland 3-1 in a Euro 2024 group stage match on Friday, boosting their hopes of reaching the last 16 while eliminating Poland from the tournament.

Austria took the lead in the 21st minute through Marko Arnautovic, but Poland equalized through Robert Lewandowski in the 54th minute.

Austria regained the lead in the 78th minute through Marcel Sabitzer, and Michael Gregoritsch added a third in the 84th minute to seal the victory.

The victory leaves Austria in second place in Group C with three points, behind Ukraine, who beat North Macedonia 2-1 earlier on Friday.

Poland is now bottom of the group with zero points and is eliminated from the tournament.
